NMC report a rise in nurses coming from other countries to work in the UK
The figures from April to June 2018 show an increase of 86% of nurses arriving from overseas to work in Britain. The increase appears to be connected with changes in legislation. NMC have sped up the process for foreign nurses.
Nurses who can prove they completed their training on an English speaking course can now register with the NMC and begin working straight away.
There’s still an exam to pass but nurses no longer have to wait 12 months for registration to start work.
Should agency nurses be worried about this huge increase? Do you think the trend is going to continue and make finding work as an agency nurse difficult?
